Bonizio is a skillful blend of top-quality Merlot from Tuscany’s coastal Maremma zone and select Sangiovese from the hills of Chianti Classico. The Mediterranean climate and sandy soil of the Maremma yield a ripe Merlot that is rich in fruit and good acidity. The higher altitude and mineral-laden clay soil of the Chianti Classico zone produces a flavorful Sangiovese with persistent but tannins. Blending these two grape varieties makes for a wine that is round on the palate, elegantly balanced, and full of flavor.
